NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace has made it very clear he’s been anything but happy with his pit crew this season, particularly crew chief Bootie Barker this past weekend.

Wallace’s temper and frustrations were let out on Sunday during the Ally 400 at Nashville, when the driver let loose over the radio after yet another incident on the track.

During the race, Barker told Wallace that he needed to stop driving as soon as it was noticed that he had left the pit with a loose wheel. As Wallace attempted to do so, racer Tyler Reddick rear-ended Wallace.

“Lever me the f*** alone, dude,” Wallace said to Barker as the crew chief attempted to apologize over the radio. “Don’t talk to me the whole f*****g race.”

“We’re not out of it,” Barker replied, attempting to bring down Wallace’s temper so he could continue. “I know you are (angry), and you deserve to be.”

Wallace was forced to restart 31st as the last car, luckily pushing through to finish the race 12th.

Barker has been on thin ice as the crew chief for the No. 23 car. In March, he was suspended for a total of four Cup Series races by NASCAR after receiving a COTA penalty. The penalty occurred after the wheel fell off of Wallace’s during the Circuit of the Americas. The infraction violated a NASCAR rule regarding “Loss or separation of an improperly installed tire/wheel from the vehicle” during a race.

During the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, Barker had warned Wallace to stay away from the pack to avoid getting wrecked, but that decision impacted Wallace’s driving since he could not maintain the consistent minimum speed to respond, resulting in minor damages to the vehicle.

At the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas, Wallace ended up with two penalties thanks to his pit crew. One for a crewman hopping over the wall dangerously early, and the second for yet another tire violation

Do you think Wallace will be parting ways with Barker sooner than later if another incident occurs?
