Jamie Sale, the Olympic Gold Medalist in pairs figure skating in 2002 from Canada, made her thoughts on masking children abundantly clear.
Sale took to Twitter where she reacted to San Diego Unified School District Board President Dr. Sharon Whitehurst-Payne informing viewers of KUSI News that the school district will be mandating masks again.
Dr. Whitehurst-Payne informed KUSI News viewers, “On May 24th, we passed the policy saying that we got to this point in our Covid data then we would automatically kick in and have the masks back on. Unfortunately, the county, the community, that’s what’s happened here. And now we’re implementing masks again.”
When asked why the board decided to pass this policy, Dr. Whitehurst-Payne noted, “We wanted to put in a policy that would take the data into consideration and regardless to whether we’re there or not, staff members would look at the data for the community and say, ‘Oh the Covid level is rising, we need to implement these mask policies based on what’s happening in the community.'”
She went on to detail that these new mask mandates would effect “one week of summer school for elementary children, another two weeks for the high school students.”
“And we’re going to implement that in the Fall if the rates are still. It’s based upon what’s happening in the community,” she added.
While the school board is reimplementing masks, they are not requiring any testing. When asked about testing, Dr. Sharon Whitehurst-Payne answered, “No. We have — if you feel like you have Covid, you’re feeling some symptoms, we’re implementing the practice that anytime you can always use those home kits. We have home kits available. We also have the central office which is open even during the summer and you can go in and get those tests on the spot.”

She would then offer the options for students who do not want to wear masks, “For the Fall there are some options. They can go to our school that’s online. They can opt not to return to the regular school, but to go to the school where they don’t have to go to school at other than via Zoom. And that’s the easiest way for folks who don’t…”
As for students who already enrolled in summer school, she said, “They really should wear the mask. They should just make it known that they don’t feel comfortable and at that point just not return.”
It’s these final moments of the interview that began circulating on Twitter, where Viva Frei aka David Freiheit, a lawyer and former political candidate for the People’s Party of Canada, commented, “If this teacher is uncomfortable being around students not wearing masks, she should go home and stay there. Cowards sacrificing the well-bring of children for their own irrational sense of security.”

Sale responded to Viva Frei tweeting, “Couldn’t agree more. Masking children is child abuse.”
Sale has been outspoken regarding Covid and the policies governments have implemented in response to the virus.
She told Rebel News earlier this month, “You and I both know the censorship that’s been going on for the last — I mean it’s been pretty much forever, but this has been the worst that we’ve ever seen over the last two years.”
“You’ve got incredibly world-renowned doctors, scientists, anybody that has been on a platform, a huge platform before this, that is speaking out is being cancelled and vilified if you Google them now. They are called every name in the book,” Sale added.
