Tom Brady recently responded to rumors that he was filming for the Masked Singer that cropped up after he left the Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp earlier in August.

Brady was excused from the training camp by Buccaneers head coach Tom Bowles who told the media, “Tom has been excused today. He’ll be back sometime around after Tennessee. He’s going to deal with some personal things.”
He continued, “This is something we talked about before training camp started. We allotted this time because he wanted to get in and get chemistry with the guys and go through two weeks of training camp.”

“Knowing he wasn’t going to play the first two games, he didn’t want to take away reps from Blaine (Gabbert) and Kyle (Trask), as well as Griff (Ryan Griffin), as far as going into these next two games,” Bowled added. “It’s something that he needs to handle.”
He reiterated, “We trust him. We talked about it. It was scheduled way before training camp and he will not be here until after Tennessee.”
Following the Buccaneers loss to the Tennessee Titans in preseason, Bowles provided an update on Brady saying, “Like I said a week and a half ago I said he would be back this week. That hasn’t changed. We expect him back this week.”
When asked what day, he answered, “It will be this week, early.”
A wild rumor would surface that Brady was filming episodes of The Masked Singer. Twitter user MBFantasyLife heavily promoted the theory saying, “I have a working theory on why Tom Brady is not at practice right now. He’s not with the Bucs. They can’t say why. The team did say they knew this was going to happen.”
“I think Tom Brady right now can not tell anyone where he is and the team can’t because he is a contestant on The Masked Singer, which is one of my favorite shows,” the Twitter user speculated.

Brady shot down the rumor posting on Twitter, “Wasn’t on the masked singer last week. Was wearing a mask though.”
He then shared a video of a man on a motorcycle wearing his Brady Brand underwear.

Brady would also make it clear he returned to the team’s training camp posting a video of him working out and captioning it, “Missed you guys.”

As for where Brady was for the week and a half he was not at training camp, it’s unclear.
However Pro Football Network claims that their “league sources indicated that Brady’s time away from the team included a trip to the Bahamas at an exclusive resort and primarily for family time with his wife, Gisele BĂĽndchen.”
They further noted, “His commitment to family and having a personal life was at the heart of this hiatus from football, and there was no medical emergency, as speculated, or other reasons.”
