Rogan was interviewing Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers on his show over the weekend when the topic came up. Rodgers has been a critic of the Covid vaccine mandates for athletes specifically, and has been the target of media attacks over his own opinions.

During their discussion, the two agreed that while the federal government was largely unable to manage the nationwide pandemic, states run by Democratic governors specifically laid down the most authoritarian measures in order to mitigate the spread of the virus, even if it meant long-term damage as result.

“Remember when they made a decision to close outdoor dining? And it turned out that one of the people that made that decision, they day she did it, went out and was dining outdoors?” Asked Rogan.

Rodgers mentioned the time California Governor Gavin Newsom was caught having a private dinner in an upscale French restaurant in Napa County after he ordered every restaurant in the state to shut down.

The discussion turned to what has happened to the thousands of small businesses throughout the country who either closed permanently or have not completely recovered in the years since the harsh lockdowns, with Rogan noting that their obvious frustrations and anger are justified.

“I hope there are lessons learned in this,” remarked Rogan. “Because this is a new thing. We had never had this before. No one who is alive today has ever experienced a true pandemic. And I’m hoping that, now that this is over, people are going to recognize that some serious errors were made and not to repeat those. That’s the best you can get out of it.”

“So what do you tell those people?” asked Rodgers.

“Vote Republican,” Rogan said. “That’s what a lot of them are going to do anyway.”

Rogan continued after making that statement, adding his praise for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who Rogan feels had taken the right steps and approach to handling the pandemic in his state compared to many other governors.

As soon as the episode was posted and this soundbite went viral, it was only a matter of time before Republicans began to celebrate Rogan’s comments and critics and haters began to attack Rogan’s character once again.

“Elon Musk is voting Republican. Joe Rogan just told all Americans to vote Republican. And they want you to think Biden is popular,” tweeted former Trump appointee and radio host, Dr. Sebastian Gorka.

Liberal author James Fell also went to Twitter to voice his strongly worded take on Rogan’s comments.

“Joe Rogan is a stupid mother****r who is idolized by stupid motherf*****s,” he said, “and telling those stupid mothers*****s to vote Republican isn’t going to make a difference because stupid mothers*****s already vote Republican.”
