According to TMZ Sports who broke the story, Gordon was arrested Monday night while waiting for a flight to Chicago. During the arrest, two police officers were injured, but details regarding what or how it specifically happened has not been released.

Gordon, 39, was taken to the Port Authority police department for processing while another member of the family received Gordon’s son and took the boy to the hospital to be seen for his alleged injuries.

A witness of the alleged attack later stated to the police that Gordon “punched” his son in the head. Since the altercation, it has also been discovered that there was a current restraining order on Gordon on behalf of his son, indicating that Gordon should not have even been near his child to begin with.

During his arraignment on Tuesday, Gordon was formally charged with multiple offenses including “assault, resisting arrest, contempt” as well as “child endangerment.”

The ex-professional basketball player isn’t new to handcuffs; Gordon has a history of legal dilemmas regarding his behavior. In 2017, he was arrested for going around his apartment complex and pulling all the firearms, sending the other tenants into a panic.

That same year, Gordon was arrested again for getting into a physical altercation with another tenant in the same apartment building regarding some kind of financial dispute. In 2020, Gordon publicly discussed that he had long suffered from issues of mental health and suicidal thoughts.

“I would be up on the roof of my apartment building at four o’clock in the morning,” said Gordon. “Just pacing to the edge of the ledge, looking over– pacing back and forth, back and forth– just thinking, I’m really about to do it.

“I’m about to escape from all this sh*t,” he continued. “I was obsessed with killing myself. It’s all I researched, all I thought about. One night my panic attacks got so bad that all I could think about was escape… You become like an animal. It’s instinctive.”
