Plenty of people have been asking NFL legend Tom Brady whether he still has the desire to continue his professional football career, or if he is ready to put down his helmet for good and slide into his financially comfortable role as a Fox Sports analyst. Well, Brady isn’t too happy with the continued questioning of his future prospects, and made that very clear in an expletive filled response on the recent episode of his “Let’s Go!” podcast.
During the episode, co-host Jim Gray asked whether or not Brady had come to a decision regarding his next big career move, since many pundits have speculated whether or not this would be he last season.
“If I knew what I was going to f***ing do, I would’ve already f***ing done it,” said Brady. “I’m taking it a day at a time.”
Thoughts as to what road Brady will decide to take have been the talk of the sports world since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost in the NFC wild-card round, but Brady has reassured those watching closely that he would be taking the time he deemed necessary to come to a decision about his future prospects.
“I’m going to go home and get a good night’s sleep as soon as I can tonight,” Brady said at the post-game conference. “There’s been a lot of focus on this game. Just one day at a time.”
After the disappointing wild-card match against the Dallas Cowboys, Brady remarked that their defeat was “not the way we wanted to end it, but we didn’t deserve it.”
“I just want to say thank you guys for everything you did this year,” he continued. “I really appreciate all your effort. I know it’s hard for you guys. I know it’s hard for us players to make it through. You guys got a tough job, and I appreciate all that you guys do to cover us, and everyone who watches and is a big fan of the sport — we’re very grateful for everyone’s support. You know hopefully, I love this organization. It’s a great place to be.”
Brady concluded “Thank you everybody for welcoming me, all the regulars. And I’m just every grateful for the respect, and I hope I have the same thing back to you guys. So thank you very much.”
Obviously, due to his choice of words and tone of the conversation, it has made sense that many analysts and commentators would see this as a pseudo-goodbye speech, whether Brady intended it that way or not.
