Jalen Hurts FIRST TIME EVER Mic'd Up for Win vs. Pittsburgh Steelers via Philadelphia Eagles YouTube

During the Philadelphia Eagles’ sensational sprint to Super Bowl LVII, the dynamic duo of Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown combined for some eye-popping, on-field action. In 2022, the quarterback and his primary receiver were the biggest components of an offense that often appeared unstoppable.

Although they came just a few points short of securing the franchise’s second Lombardi Trophy, the future looks bright in The City of Brotherly Love. The youthful combination of Hurts and Brown is not only lethal on the field, but they are also a lot of fun to watch. Within the bat of an eyelash, they can combine forces to make even the most frustrated Philly fan focus on the positives. There should be several more postseasons ahead for these two Pro Bowl phenoms.

The only thing hinging on the Eagles building a perennial contender around Hurts and Brown will be keeping them together. Brown, 25, inked a four-year, $100 million contract with the Eagles last year, and he now wants to see his signal caller secured for the long term, as well.

AJ Brown has implored the Eagles to sign Jalen Hurts, saying that he wants to play wherever the quarterback plays.

“You gotta pay, bro,” Brown said on the Raw Room podcast on Tuesday. “I love Philly. What I’m about to say … You do not pay this man, just ship me off wherever he’s going to go. So, you talk about pressure, Howie, get it done.”

Brown was referencing Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman, who will be charged with keeping one of the best players in the NFL financially happy.

As of press time, it looks more and more like the deal is almost completed. Philadelphia can’t have a totally clear view of what can be spent and the available money for free agents and extensions until the Hurts contract is done. So, they will be looking to clear things up as soon as possible.

“I think when we talk about Jalen, we’re talking about a guy we have tremendous confidence in, a guy that we want to be here for a long time,” Roseman told NBC Sports Philadelphia earlier this week. “And so, it will be something that will be a priority for us.”

A 2020 second-round pick, Hurts signed a 4-year, $6,025,171 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, including a $1,941,944 signing bonus. In his first two seasons, Hurts had 4,063 yards passing yards, along with 21 touchdowns, 12 and interceptions. He also added 1,056 yards on the ground.

In year three of his NFL career, Jalen Hurts rocketed to superstardom… and the Super Bowl.

Hurts was on fire in 2022, finishing as the runner-up for The League’s MVP Award. The Philly phenom notched 3,701 yards passing, 22 touchdowns, six interceptions, and a 66.7 Quarterback Rating. He also ran for 760 yards and 13 TDs

According to multiple reports, Hurts is expected to get a deal worth $45 to $50 million annually. That would include a whopping signing bonus and would put enough green in his pockets to match his Eagles uniform. It also gives Philly stability at the most important position on the field. Not to mention long-term salary cap freedom. So a done deal is a win-win for everyone.

With the two sides likely coming to terms as quickly as possible, many fans are expecting an announcement about Hurts’ new deal potentially soon. That should certainly make the superstar quarterback (AND his talented wide receiver AJ Brown) very happy going forward.
