Chase Briscoe made it abundantly clear he expects Ryan Blaney to pay him back after he punted Blaney on the final restart at Sunday night’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

On the final restart of the race with just eight laps to go, Briscoe dived to the bottom of the track underneath Blaney, hit a hole, came up the track, and drove right into the door of Blaney sending him spinning.

Blaney would somehow avoid contact with the entire field and the race would stay green. Blaney would end up with a dismal 23rd finish while Briscoe took home a fifth place finish.

Following the race, Briscoe spoke to the media where he explained what happened from his perspective and predicted that Blaney would be giving him some payback later on in the season.

First, he said, “The only way you can really get the bottom line going, just got in there and I tried to run a lane lower. I thought he was kind of going to the middle. I hit that dirt turtle deal. Obviously, did it to myself going down that low and just hit it. And as soon as I hit it, it popped me up and kind of just drove me straight into his left rear and absolutely ruined his day.”

Briscoe then predicted, “I’m sure there’s going to be payback on that side. I definitely deserve it. I ruined his day. He done a really good job all day long.”

“Just a stupid move by my part,” Briscoe confessed. “It’s two years in a row I made kind of a dumb move and dumb decision late in the race and cost somebody else a good day. So I just got to do a lot better.”

Briscoe took out Tyler Reddick on the last lap at the Bristol Dirt Race last year allowing Kyle Busch to claim victory. Briscoe attempted to perform a slide job on Reddick on the last lap, but completely missed it and instead slammed his rear end into Reddick’s left rear quarter panel sending them both spinning to the bottom of the track.

As Reddick attempted to get back on the track, Kyle Busch drove past him and took home the checkered flag.

What do you make of Briscoe’s comments? Do you think Ryan Blaney will pay back Briscoe?
