Kevin Porter Jr. has been instructed to stay away from the Houston Rockets following his recent domestic violence arrest, and it appears that he won’t be brought back on the fold.

Porter, 23, pleaded not guilty to felony assault and strangulation charges in connection with the incident near the Millennium Hilton in Manhattan. Prosecutors said he didn’t stop until his girlfriend, former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick, ran out into the hallway covered in blood.

Gondrezick, 26, said Kevin Porter Jr. also strangled her, causing her to have difficulty breathing and loss of motion to her left arm.

Rockets GM Rafael Stone said this week that the  would not be available for Houston’s media day, then addressed the situation tevolving around the status during Houston’s media day on Monday … calling the allegations made against the hooper “deeply troubling.”

“Going back a few weeks, as soon as I heard the allegations, I informed his representatives that he could not be part of the Houston Rockets,” Stone continued. “They understood and he has not been with the team or around the team or had any interaction with the team since that time and will not be at media day today or in training camp.”

Kevin Porter Jr. was originally drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. However, the fprmer USC Trojan was traded to Clevelend, where he played for parts of two seasons before he was shipped off to Houston for a future, conditional draft pick. He has averaged 15.3 points per game during his four years in  The Association.
