Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill showed off a new celebration on Sunday during his team’s 42-21 win over the Carolina Panthers. After hauling in a 22-yard touchdown pass, he immediately approached someone at the back of the end zone who was recording the score on their phone. Hill took the phone, filmed himself while doing a backflip, then gave the phone back, and celebrated with his teammates.

It’s not the first time that Tyreek Hill has gone beyond the limits of the NFL’s policy on excessive celebration in his career. Or even this month, for that matter.

Just last week, the Fastest Man in the NFL was handed down a $10k penalty for his peace sign celebration against the Giants. That didn’t stop him, and he says that nothing else will, either. According to the wideout, he’d rather play with passion than

“I know the NFL is going to fine me for it,” Tyreek Hill told the media following the win. “It’s worth it though, to create memories that I can look back on… Every time I step on the field, I want to make it memorable. But I don’t play this game for money; I play this game for passion.”

“I just feel like, to me, I’m having so much fun… I could care less about the money; I know the money is going to come.”

It definitely will. Especially if he continues to put up the eye-popping numbers he has thus far in 2023.

With his performance against the Panthers, Tyreek Hill set the record for the most receiving yards through the first six games of an NFL season with 814. He’s also notched in six touchdowns as he continues to help pace the Dolphins’ fast-break offense. Miami (5-1, first in the AFC East) is riding high, but they’ll face their toughest test yet when they take on the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles this week on Sunday Night Football.
