It’s the end of an era in endorsements, as Tiger Woods has left the Nike brand that he’s worn for his entire career

Since he burst on the scene on the PGA Tour in 1996, Tiger Woods has been known for not only his great golfing but his great gear as well. As the face of Nike Golf for over a quarter of a century, his signature Sunday look was the brand’s black cap and red polo. It became as synonymous with his image as his signature swing.

No More Nike

But those days have come to an end. The 15-time major winner announced recently that he has departed Nike, and will no longer be an ambassador for the company.

“Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world,” Tiger Woods said in a statement posted to his X account. “The days since have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories, if I started naming them, I could go on forever.”

“Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way.”

What’s Next For Woods?

Tiger Woods has not announced what brand he will be switching to, but it sounds as if fans and observers will find out something soon.

In a statement regarding his plans to play in the Genesis at Riviera Country Club over Feb. 15-18, he left a bit of a cryptic message regarding what’s on the horizon.

“People will ask if there is another chapter,” Woods wrote. “Yes, there will certainly be another chapter. See you in LA!”
