A legend during his days with the Texas Longhorns, Vince Young is a staple in the Lone Star State. He’s an icon among Longhorns fans in Austin.

More than a decade after his retirement from the NFL, Young now finds himself in the news for all of the wrong reasons.

Per TMZ Sports, the national championship-winning quarterback was involved in a wild bar fight in a Houston-based bar named Tokyo Joe’s.

The report is absolutely wild. TMZ Sports provided a video that showed Young pushing several men after exchanging words. One of the men can be seen throwing an elbow before Young is hit with a huge haymaker that sends him to the floor.

Here is the video in question.

Young was on the ground for a few minutes knocked out cold before he ultimately got back up.

“The Houston Police Department tells us officers were called out to the scene by the bar’s owner, who claimed he was the one who was hit by the drink and the elbow. Cops say the man told them the tiff all started over a conversation about race — and turned physical once he asked the patrons to leave.”

Young’s NFL career did not go swimmingly. After earning a Pro Bowl spot as a rookie in 2006, he struggled big time in Tennessee. The quarterback spent five seasons with the Titans, throwing a mere 42 touchdowns compared to 42 interceptions. He then spent the 2011 season with the Philadelphia Eagles, tallying four touchdown passes against nine picks.

Young has had his fair share of off-field issues since stepping away from the game. That includes multiple arrests on DWI charges in the state of Texas.
