You might remember Hanna Cavinder and her twin sister, Haley, as stars for the Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team back in March of 2023.

The two knockouts led Miami to a rare appearance in the Elite 8, showing that on-court prowess can be combined with off-court appeal to lift up the women’s game.

More recently, we have seen this with recent WNBA draft picks Caitlan Clark and Angel Reese after they helped lift up interest in the growing women’s game.

About all of that? With Clark now on the Indiana Fever and Reese set to do her thing with the Chicago Sky, a vacuum needs to be filled in college basketball. Cavinder appears to be up to the task.

Despite her sister opting to tranfer to Texas Christian, Cavinder announced on Wednesday that she’ll return to the Hurricanes after a one season hiatus.

The 5-foot-6 guard and Arizona native had taken a step back from college ball to pursue other options off the court after going viral last spring for both her play and appeal to the masses.

Rumors swirled about the twin sisters potentially looking to cash in on their fame within the confines of the WWE. After all, the influencers have a whopping 4.5 million followers on TikTok.

This turned into an NIL windfall for the two as they became one of the top-10 most-valuable personalities within the women’s college basketball game, per On3.

Now, Cavinder is looking to cash in on the growing popularity of women’s college basketball while potentially making a career of it.

Her college career started with Fresno State back in 2019-20. The guard averaged at least 14.6 points in each of her three seasons with the Bulldogs.

She took a back seat to her sister in 2022-23 with Miami, scoring 3.8 points per game.
