The Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce has lost a major award to his singer girlfriend Taylor Swift, who beat him out on Tuesday in the 28th Annual Webby Awards.

Swift Beats Out Kelce

People Magazine reported that the Webby Awards have been presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) since 1996, and the 3,000-member judging body that is made up of some of the best industry leaders hands out two honors in every category: the Webby Award and the Webby People’s Voice Award. The IADAS decides on the former, while the latter is decided by fan votes.

Though the awards show will be hosted by Amber Ruffin on May 13, the full list of winners was released on Tuesday. This list showed that Swift, 34, beat out her boyfriend Kelce, also 34, in the Best Creator or Influencer Collaboration, Features (Social) category, winning both the Webby Award and People’s Voice Award.

US Magazine reported that Swift won for her September of 2023 collaboration with Vote.org for National Voter Registration Day, which she did in an attempt to get more people to register to vote before Election Day. Kelce had been nominated in this category for his collaboration The Cheesecake Factory, and the other nominees that Swift beat out included Amaury Guichon’s Whimsical Wonka Suitcase, M·A·C COSMETICS x TUBEGIRL and The Ad You Stay In.

Kelce won’t be leaving the Webby Awards completely empty handed, however, as he and his brother Jason won a separate Webby for Best Co-Hosts, Features (Podcasts) for their popular “New Heights” podcast. For that honor, the brothers beat out “Bitch Sesh,” “Jill Scott Presents: J.ill the Podcast,” “Questlove Supreme” and “We Can Do Hard Things.”

Swift And Kelce’s Relationship

Swift and Kelce went public with their relationship in September of last year, two months after he discussed her tour on his podcast.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift told Time Magazine back in December, adding that they “started hanging out right after that.”

Swift went on to explain that she and Kelce “had a significant amount of time” together that nobody knew about.

“We got to get to know each other,” she explained. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

Swift And Kelce Enjoying The Off-Season

Swift became a fixture on the sidelines of Kelce’s games throughout the last NFL season, watching his team go all the way to winning the Super Bowl. They’ve since been enjoying his off-season together, as she is currently on a break from her Eras Tour, which is set to resume in May.

“This is the first time the two of them have had no commitments and they are both really looking forward to being a normal couple and playing house,” one source recently told Daily Mail. “She is looking forward to sleeping in and cooking dinners at home.”

“They both want their relationship to be as normal as possible and it works because they are both very aware of their fame but neither let it go to their heads,” this insider added.

Hopefully Swift beating out Kelce for a Webby Award doesn’t cause any problems in their relationship. Given how much fun they seem to be having with each other, however, it seems likely that they’re just getting a kick out of this and will be able to have a good time with this awards show!
