As a Packers fan, I’m sometimes mystified by the moves our front office makes. Don’t get me wrong – it looks like (relatively new) general manager Brian Gutekunst really knows what he’s doing.

But the Packers are unusual anyway in their organization. The New York Football Giants are a little more common in their organization, and so might be a better group to look at for this purpose.

And that’s exactly what HBO did for their next iteration of Hard Knocks, the show that takes fans into the inner workings of the offseason.

But this time, we’ll get to see not just the players and coaches, but the front office.

View Into the Giants’ Front Office on Hard Knocks

Hard Knocks has been running since 2001. The show has covered most of the teams in the league (excepting the Packers), and some of them twice or even three times.

But the newest edition with the Giants will be the first to pull back the curtain on some of the most demanding aspects of the game.

The show will cover typically hush-hush Top Secret topics that teams hold onto like pure gold.

Have you ever wanted to know just how exactly teams approach the NFL Scouting Combine?

How about free agency? The Draft?

That’s what’s in store for us on the upcoming Hard Knocks.

Giants Offseason

The Giants are as good a team as any for this purpose. They have a billionaire nepobaby owner, they inexplicably gave Daniel Jones a massive contract two years ago, and that’s just for starters.

Speaking of starters, they lost two of the best in the game to free agency – Saquon Barkley went to the Philadelphia Eagles, and Safety Xavier McKinney is ensconced warmly at home in my beloved Green Bay.

The Giants had the 6th overall pick, and went with Malik Nabers, the wide receiver out of LSU. But how did they get around to that decision, especially considering the roster?

We will hopefully at least get enlightening hints, if not outright answers, on Hard Knocks, and these are the kinds of questions big fans are dying to know.
