Enigmatic media personality Skip Bayless is out as the host of “Undisputed” after an eight-year run with Fox Sports 1.
Ryan Glasspiegel of the NY Post was the first to report the news on Monday.
“Bayless referred The Post to Fox Sports PR, which declined to comment,’ the Post reported on Monday.
Bayless’ on-air attitude has made him somewhat of an embattled figure around the sports media world. His relationship with former co-host Shannon Sharpe also made news last year with the show going on hiatus for some time after Sharpe’s departure.
What’s Next For Skip Bayless And FS1?
We’re not 100% sure. What we do know is that he had signed a four-year, $32 million deal back in 2021. That deal expires this summer. It’s in this that Bayless’ last show will be later this summer.
All of this comes at a time that the sports media world is undergoing a ton of change. TNT will no longer broadcast NBA games starting in 2025-26. This means that Charles Barkley will be a free agent. Though, he’s also contemplating retirement.
Meanwhile, another big-time figure in that of Stephen A. Smith could be leaving ESPN. They are said to have offered him a $90 million deal. But the co-host of “First Take” wants more.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Bayless as the summer plays out.
