The Opening Ceremony for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris took place on Friday. The was an unreal scene as nations across the world came together to celebrate the Olympiad.
Through strife and peace alike, this has been the case every four years since the inaugural Games took place in 1896 in Athens, Greece.
This year’s event comes with wars all around the globe, internal strife in the United State and a ton of volatility in this modern era.
That did not stop athletes from representing their nation and stars around the globe from putting on tremendous performances.

Sights And Sounds From Opening Ceremony Of The Summer Olympics
The United States arrived via boat in the Seine River. Remember, water quality in the river was a major talking point heading into the Games.
NBA star LeBron James made history as the first men’s basketball player to be a flagbearer at the Games for the U.S.
Everything else aside, that was an absolutely awesome scene right there.
Fellow NBA supserstar Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks also made history as the first Black flagbearer for Greece during the Opening Ceremony.
The performance by French metal band “Gojira” was absolutely off the charts.
Prior to the festivities kicking off, music superstar Ariana Grande stunned on the red carpet. How could she not?
The scene over the Seine River to get things started was all sorts of awesome.
The host nation of France showed up in style, too.
The Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony got lit. Almost litereally, with Juliette Armanet and Sofiane Pamart performing their rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine.”
The Palestinian contingent raised its flag as its flagbearer came with a strong message. They had received a warm welcome in Paris the day before.
Lady Gaga and Celine Dion are performing as a duet. But the former got things started in grand fashion.
Would we expect anything else?
As Bounding Into Sports reported earlier, hip-hop legend Snoop Doggs was also on hand to raise the flame.
We’re just glad he didn’t try to light something with it.
The fireworks display over the famed Eiffel Tower in Paris was absolutely extraordinary.
