Las Vegas Aces star big A’ja Wilson has surprisingly flown under the radar during what has been a dominant season for the two-time WNBA MVP.

A lot of that has to do with the performances of rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese as well as the “drama” surrounding the two.

All the while, Wilson continues to make history.

That was the case again on Sunday as Vegas defeated Brittney Griner and the Phoenix Mercury by the score of 97-79.

Wilson dropped 41 points and 17 rebounds on 16-of-23 shooting. She was absolutely on one as the two-time defending WNBA champs won going away.

By virtue of this performance, Wilson joined all-time great Candace Parker as the only WNBA player to record a 40-point, 15-rebound game.

Sure, Clark continues to do her thing in a history-making performance for the Indiana Fever. She’s a generational talent. That can’t be ignored. But Wilson obviously deserves her flowers.

  • A’ja Wilson stats (2024): 27.0 PPG, 11.8 RPG, 2.7 BPG

These are not numbers that we see in the WNBA. Certainly, Wilson is well on her way to winning a third WNBA MVP award. At 28 years old, the South Carolina product is nowhere near done.
