During a Saturday college baseball game between Coastal Carolina and East Carolina, cameras at ESPN+ caught a fan making a rather cheeky move.

Two women in black outfits and sunglasses were spotted in the stands, with one snapping a regular selfie while the other turned the camera on her backside for what is being described as a “butt selfie.”

“Selfie time for some Chanticleer fans,” broadcaster Patrick Johnson said to his partner, Mike Mullis, at the onset of the segment which was completely innocent to start.

I’m sure the two thought they’d be able to crack some harmless jokes about vain college ladies taking selfies instead of watching the game. Instead, the cracks came to them.

One fan who happened to watch the moment posted video to X and captioned it, “The greatest moment in ESPN Plus history.”

He’s probably right.

Viral ‘Butt Selfie’ Moment

Johnson and Mullis couldn’t resist entirely, however, with the former saying the “butt selfie” woman’s glasses clearly weren’t for reading since they were “down there.”

“Okay, obviously her glasses are not reading glasses because she had them down there,” Johnson joked.

“Interesting photo she took there,” Mullis replied.

The broadcast quickly shifted gears to a more family-friendly view of the game on the field, avoiding any further rumpus with viewers.

Coastal Carolina held a 5-0 lead over East Carolina. But nobody was thinking about that at this point.

Fans Respond To What The Camera Caught

Fans on social media, though, proceeded to have a blast over the “butt selfie” heard ’round the world. It has nearly 37 million views on X at this point. Oh, this poor woman.

“Happy to say I was there for this moment in history,” one fan quipped.

Another delivered this cheeky remark, “Disgusting for the game of baseball and the university. What’s her @ so I can let her know?”

“Women can’t celebrate International Women’s Day anymore?” one fan wondered.

Despite the viral booty buzz, the identities of the women remain a mystery—no one’s spilling the beans. Once they’re identified, it’s almost a certainty they’ll get some offers from some shady online sources. Maybe they can even cash in on the NIL craze.

For those still wondering, Coastal Carolina clinched a 9-1 victory, with pitcher Cameron Flukey making sure the opposing lineup went bottom-up for most of the night.
