Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, asked if she was “bummed” about not being a part of the Olympics, opted to take the high road.

It’s the road she most often takes, and part of the reason she’s so adored by her fans.

When posed the question, Clark talked about the benefits of getting a much-needed break during her grinding rookie season, then said it would serve as motivation for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

“No, I think the break has definitely been good,” she replied.

“It’s certainly cool – an opportunity you only get once in four years,” Clark continued. “So I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily bummed, it gives you something to work for, something to dream of.”

Caitlin Clark Working Hard For The Next Olympics

Clark went on to point out that the Olympic snub does nothing more than motivate her for a future run at the event.

“In four years you can be there and four years comes fast. That’s your time in college… it shows you that you have to start working now if you want that to be your dream in four years,” she added.

“That’s it for me – work hard and hopefully you can be there.”

Her comments are in line with when she previously told her head coach that the Olympic snub was going to awaken a “monster.”

Since then, she has significantly improved her game, specifically the passing game, and even broke a record for assists in helping the WNBA All-Star team take down Team USA.

Without Clark, Nobody Is Watching Team USA

A few days ago, Caitlin Clark’s old high school coach reminded her of a similar moment in her career when she failed to qualify for the U-17 World Cup.

Clark became determined and focused in the gym, eventually making it on the team representing America at the U-19 World Championships in Bangkok.

Will she follow a similar path and make it to the 2028 Olympics?

While Caitlin might not be “bummed” about being snubbed for the Paris Olympics, Team USA seems to be having some second thoughts.

South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley recently suggested if Team USA had to do it all over again, they’d be thinking a little harder about adding Caitlin Clark to the Olympic team.

“If we had to do it all over again, the way that she’s playing, she would be in really high consideration of making the team because she is playing head and shoulders above a lot of people,” Staley said.

Without her being a part of the team, attendance for Team USA games is suffering. People hoping to make money off ticket sales and television ratings are most likely bummed about Clark’s absence.
