One-time Olympic hopeful Sha’Carri Richardson was removed from an American Airlines flight this weekend after getting into a verbal altercation with several flight attendants and passengers.

The situation erupted when Richardson was filming a video on Instagram which clearly shows an American Airlines attendant leaning into the frame informing her and other travelers that they needed to put away mobile devices as the plane was preparing for takeoff to their destination.

From there, an attendant asks Richardson directly to stop filming and put away her device as per the instructions, but she instead decides to escalate the situation by becoming argumentative and accusing the attendant of harassing her.

“I’m recording me, but you jumped in my video, so I caught you because you jumped in my video. You’re harassing me at this point, so I think you should stop. I think you should stop. I think you should stop,” she said.

After attempting to further paint herself as a victim by continuing to argue, she later begins to curse and argue with another passenger on the flight who began to call her out for her excuses and behavior.

“Tell me if I’ll be wrong to pursue legal actions against the airline @americanair not only did the man threaten me but also an innocent bystander who simply just wanted to take a picture with me,” Richardson later posted to her Instagram account.

Because of her lack of maturity and inability to take accountability for the situation, she doubles down by attempting to make the whole situation appear as if it were racially motivated by making it a point to mention the race of the attendant who asked her to put her, and other passengers, devices away prior to take off.

“In the beginning of the video you can hear a Caucasian male state that he doesn’t give a f as a man that male flight attendant is intimidating women,” she said.

By also adding that he “doesn’t give a f as a man,” she tries to shield herself even more by trying to make him seem as if he had some ill will against women in general.

She didn’t stop there. She then railed against the captain, “Also the captain not doing anything to help the situation and this flight attendant has the applause when I exited the plane when I’m pretty serious the disrespect I received would not have happened if I was one of them.”

“One of them even stated good luck with your ban (I see he took time to do some research but not stand up for what’s right) soooo American Airlines this flight attendant name was John and he refused to state his last name,” she continued on her Instagram post.

“However him and the lady ya’ll see standing next to him looked me up also if I see videos posted from this flight, watch,” she added.

While continuing on in her video that the attendant should be reprimanded for the “disrespect” towards her, you can hear another passenger begin to complain that the disturbance clearly caused by Richardson was going to disrupt his ability to catch his connecting flight on time.

“Oh, so you’re worried about a connection when a grown man is disrespecting me?” Richardson shot back at him.

“I don’t give a s***,” the passenger replied.

The whole situation finally concluded when the captain ordered she be removed from the plane, which she still continued to argue, to which a group of passengers on the plane began to applaud and cheer once she complied and left the flight.

In a statement provided to NBC, an American Airlines representative stated that “We reaccomodated the customer on a later flight and a member of our team has reached out to learn more.”
