U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) has proven that in the ever-changing woke world of sports bureaucracy, the real crime isn’t letting biological males rack up women’s national titles—it’s daring to call it out.
Decorated 49-year-old swimmer Angie Griffin, a multiple All-American honoree, now finds herself on the wrong end of a formal grievance simply because she referred to a trans competitor as “a man” on a USMS community forum.
Spoiler alert—he is, in fact, a biological male.
Griffin is stating basic biology, which is a big no-no in the magical world of make-believe. She unknowingly raced against a biological male at the 2025 Spring Nationals in San Antonio, where the guy snagged five women’s golds.
Instead of addressing the fairness issue head-on, USMS is busy policing language like it’s 1984.
Why do you think this is fair to women?

At the @MastersSwimming National Championships last month, Hugo “Ana” Caldas won first in the Women’s 45-49 age category in the 100yd IM, 50yd Freestyle, 100yd Freestyle, 100yd Breast Stroke, in addition to the 50yd Breast Stroke.

The USMS confirmed in a statement to Fox News that the grievance has been filed.
Griffin, who’s hired legal help, says the stakes couldn’t be higher: the organization could wipe all her times, strip her recognitions, and essentially erase her from the USMS record books—or worse, boot her for life under their Code of Conduct.
“They can possibly remove all my times, any sort of recognition I’ve had, and possibly just delete me from U.S. Masters, for speaking an opinion, and honestly, speaking fact,” she told the outlet.

Meanwhile, USMS keeps mum on the specifics, issuing the classic “we don’t comment on individual matters” line while confirming the grievance is grinding through their review process. Because nothing screams “inclusive sports community” like threatening to nuke a woman’s legacy for refusing to play pretend.
Griffin defended herself by saying she was simply stating facts and living in reality.
“I tried to file a motion to dismiss it, giving evidence that I had not been bullying anyone online, that I had just merely posted facts that were available for anyone to find,” she said.
This renewed clown show comes after USMS flip-flopped on its transgender policies—first restricting biological males from women’s national recognition post-2025 scandal (July 2025 interim rules), then tweaking again in February 2026 to comply with state nondiscrimination laws.
The result? Women like Griffin are forced to compete against men, stay quiet about it, or face the tribunal.
What a world we live in.
