Serena Williams’ coincidentally-named daughter, Olympia, attended the 2024 Olympics in Paris and joined her parents on the red carpet ahead of the Opening Ceremony.

The tennis legend and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, were stopped for a brief interview with NBC Sports. Serena was asked her initial thoughts on the setting. She enthusiastically replied, “The Olympics in Paris is really, really incredible.”

But it was Olympia’s shining smile and sweet voice that stole the show. The reporter asked which of the sports or athletes the 6-year-old was most looking forward to.

“Every one of them,” she replied as her proud parents smiled and looked on.

Serena Williams Jealous

When everyone recovered from the cuteness overload, the interview pivoted to further thoughts about the 2024 Olympics from Serena Williams.

ā€œI donā€™t know if itā€™s fun or if Iā€™m a little jealous,ā€ the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion admitted. ā€œI did do the London-Wimbledon combination but thereā€™s a little jealousy here.ā€

Olympic tennis contests are being held from July 27th to August 4th at the famed Stade Roland Garros, site of the renowned clay courts that host the French Open.

The Boat Incident At The 2024 Olympics

Serena Williams went viral at the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Paris Olympics due to her reaction getting off a boat as part of the proceedings.

She was among the four sporting legends who carried the Olympic torch in a boat over the River Seine. Williams was on the same boat with Rafael Nadal, Carl Lewis, and Nadia Comaneci.

The boat journey was part of the torch relay, which began with French soccer icon Zinedine Zidane handing the torch to Nadal, who then boarded the boat with the other athletes.

It’s Serena’s reaction when the boat finally stopped that made waves (pun intended).

Serena has four gold medals in tennis. Three in doubles, and one in singles in her aforementioned appearance in London in 2012.

She defeated Maria Sharapova in the gold medal match, 6-0 6-1.
