United States Olympians Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles continued their amazing run during the 2024 Summer Olympics on Monday.
Having won three gold medals thus far in the Summer Games, Biles did struggle on the vault. That included falling off on to the mat, disabling her ability to qualify for a medal.
It was pretty much the only hiccup for the most decorated American gymnast ever.
The good news? These two teammates did medal in the floor exercise competition from Paris on Monday. Biles finished with a silver while Chiles earned Bronze. Though, it did not come without some controversy (read that here).
In the end, another historic Olympian in that of Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade came out with gold. She was absolutely brilliant, acing her routine.
Andrade has won a total of 14 Olympic and World medals and is the most decorated Brazilian and Latin American gymnast of all time. Let that sink in for a second.
As great as Andrade’s performance was, it’s what took place during the medal ceremony that’s the talk of the Olympics.
