The Team USA women’s gymnastics team should be celebrating gold following their ‘redemption’ win at the Paris Olympics. They should be doing handsprings.

Instead, the post-medal celebration is quickly devolving into chaos as current and former teammates are taking harsh jabs at one another.

Gymnast Simone Biles took a brutal shot at a former Team USA teammate following her squad capturing the gold medal in Paris.

MyKayla Skinner, who served as an alternate for Biles in the 2020 games, initially raised the ire of this year’s team by describing them as lacking the proper work ethic.

Biles went directly after her in an Instagram post of the new Olympic champs captioned: “Lack of talent, lazy, Olympic champions.”

Simone Biles Gets Some Backup

Simone Biles’ post went viral and caught the eye of teammates and former teammates alike who took turns taunting Skinner some more.

McKayla Maroney, who won gold and silver medals at the London Olympics in 2012, chimed in and continued the beat down.

“It doesn’t get more iconic than this. She f’d around n found out (for real),” Maroney commented. “Feels like I need to apologize just to redeem my first name.”

Suni Lee reposted the story adding, “Put a finger down if Simone Biles just ended you 🖐🏼.”

Biles then took to X and laughed at the idea that Skinner had blocked her.

“Oop I’ve been blocked,” she wrote.

Where Do You Stand On The Feud?

I’m not quite sure where I stand on this feud. Skinner’s comments weren’t a good look and apparently made for bulletin board material for this team.

She did apologize, but if Biles wanted to take an icy jab at her, that’s perfectly understandable.

At this point though, it just seems like piling on. The point was made when you won the gold medal. A social media feud is taking the focus off of the accomplishments of this year’s squad.

You’ve got individual events still on the schedule and you’re going to have to spend time answering questions about who blocked you on Instagram.

Simone Biles is now the most decorated Olympic gymnast in American history. She doesn’t need to prove herself to Skinner or anybody else.
