Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr. was among hundreds of people who gathered in West Los Angeles Sunday to express solidarity with Israel following the Hamas terror attacks.
The man they call ‘Money’ was joined by several elected officials, NBA players, Christian, Muslim, and Jewish faith leaders, and over 35 national and local Jewish organizations. A total of 7,500 Angelinos gathered for the march at the Simon Wiesenthal Center Museum of Tolerance. California governor Gavin Newsome also chimed in, sending a message of unity on via video.
In the middle of it all, Floyd Mayweather stood proudly with the people, all decked out in blue and white and carrying the Israeli flag.
“I’m behind you guys 100%,” Mayweather said. He later told TMZ, “I will continue to support Israel and its right to defend itself and its right to exist. I condemn the Hamas terrorists.”
Floyd Mayweather has also sent aid and support to Israel, along with making it clear that he stands with the nation and its people. He reportedly shipped over 5,000 pounds of supplies for civilians and military personnel to the embattled country.
“I stand with Israel and Jews all around the world. I condemn antisemitism at all costs. I stand for Peace. I stand for Human Rights! Terrorism Is Never The Answer!” Mayweather commented on Instagram.
Floyd Mayweather, 46, retired undefeated (50-0, 27 KOs) in his professional boxing career and is generally regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in history. He was an adept defender whose strategy was to wear out opponents rather than punch them out. He’s also known for being a world champion in five different weight classes: Super Featherweight, Lightweight, Light Welterweight, Welterweight, and Light Middleweight.
