Boxing: Tyson vs Paul Weigh-In

Mike Tyson slapped Jake Paul silly during their pre-fight weigh-in and now the “Baddest Man on the Planet” has revealed the real reason he snapped.

It’s hilarious.

Tyson’s slap turned Paul’s head completely around and led to some epic closeup shots of his face.

“Talk is over,” Tyson later told reporters.

But talk wasn’t over, as he discussed the incident with reporters and explained what led to the altercation. Was it all just hype to help promote the fight? Or was there a legitimate reason that Tyson popped Jake in the head?

Why Did Tyson Slap Jake?

Tyson’s version of events helps people to better understand why he would have unloaded on Jake Paul during the staredown.

It’s because he stepped on his piggy toes. No, I’m serious.

As you can see, Tyson is stripped down to his shorts for the weigh-in, and apparently, Paul hopped up on stage in his sneakers and … *crunch*.

“I was in my socks and he had on shoes,” Tyson told the New York Post. “He stepped on my toe because he is a […]ing […]hole. I wanted to think it happened by accident. But now I think it may have happened on purpose.”

“I was in a lot of pain. I had to reciprocate,” he added.

Go ahead and pat yourself on the back if you read that last line using Mike’s signature lisp. Because I did the same exact thing.

Jake’s Mom Defends Her Boy

For his part, Jake Paul seemed rather unfazed by the slap from Tyson, saying he “didn’t even feel it” and slamming Iron Mike as “an angry little elf.”

“Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap buddy, but tomorrow you’re gonna get knocked the […] out,” Paul carried on. “I’m […] him up, I’m […] him up. He hits like a […]. It’s personal now. It’s personal now. He must die.”

Hits like a what?! Where would he learn such language?

Well, his Mom apparently, who hugged her “Problem Child” after Toegate and said something similar.

You slap harder than him,” Jake said to Mama Paul after she described Tyson as a “[…]ing little […]”

We get to find out who truly hits harder later tonight, as Paul vs. Tyson is finally set to kick off from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The full card starts at 8 p.m. ET.
