Claressa Shields, a three-division undisputed women’s boxing champion, is confident in her ability to defeat Jake Paul inside the ring.
And who could blame her after that debacle of a ‘match’ against Mike Tyson?
Shields’ confidence was on full display in an interview with TMZ Sports. She insists she can take down more than just the “Problem Child.”
“I don’t think Jake Paul has the skills to get inside the ring with me,” she said. “Or any of the guys at 154 pounds and up who is ranked in the rankings. I’m not gonna lie to you. 1 (through) 10.”
Claressa Shields Versus Jake Paul?
At 29 years of age, Claressa Shields is most likely way too young for Jake Paul to even consider stepping in the ring with. He prefers his opponents to be a bit more, shall we say, seasoned.
Shields, though, is constantly trying to bait Jake into a boxing match. She has criticized Paul’s level of boxing skill, calling it “mediocre,” and has been vocal about her disdain for his choice of opponents.
Despite the ongoing feud, which includes Paul’s previous jabs at Shields after her MMA loss, she remains steadfast in her belief that she would be the superior fighter in a hypothetical match.
Shields has also challenged Paul flat-out to a fight, suggesting that if he wants to “scrap,” she’s ready. She maintains that he could not beat her in a legitimate professional boxing match.
Shields called him out in 2021, saying, “I’m (a) real boxer, I can beat up Jake Paul at the weight class that I am in right now.”

A Clash of Boxing Credibility
Claressa Shields often positions herself as a “real” boxer against Paul’s celebrity-driven boxing career.
And Paul doesn’t help the narrative by selecting opponents who often include retired athletes or those from different combat sports rather than seasoned boxers.
Shields is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, a three-time undisputed boxing world champion, and holds world titles in five different weight classes, making her one of the most decorated female boxers in history.
Paul defeated Tyson in an over-hyped, widely-panned match by unanimous decision.
