Jake Paul is set to cash in on an eight-figure payday for his highly anticipated fight against the legendary “Iron” Mike Tyson.

Yes, you read that correctly.

The Tyson vs. Paul fight has been one of the most talked-about events in the boxing world, capturing widespread attention. And the ‘Problem Child’ is viewing it as a stepping stone to an actual title fight.

“In this sport staying active is key and I’m on the path of world championship. I’ll do the money fights, I’ll knock out some legends but at the end of the day, I want the belt and that’s what I’m here to do,” he said at a press conference Sunday.

“I’m going to learn a lot through this fight and this training camp, so this is helping through my future fights.”

So just how big is this paycheck? Paul said he would “make $40 million and knock out a legend.”

Jake Paul Cashing In On Mike Tyson Fight

The battle between Jake Paul and “Iron” Mike Tyson is scheduled for Friday, November 15th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Originally set for July 20th, the fight was postponed due to Tyson experiencing health issues related to an ulcer flare-up.

Paul jabbed the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ by saying it was delayed due to his “menopause break”.

Despite being labeled as an exhibition, both fighters have emphasized that this will be treated as a real fight. There’s no headgear, and it’s sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations, indicating its professional status.

But Tyson’s medical issues, coupled with concerns already present due to his age (he’s 58), have led some critics to dismiss the bout as little more than a gimmick promotion.

Tyson’s last fight was an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

Ticket Prices Are Dropping

While Jake Paul is getting $40 million, one has to imagine Tyson is making bank on this fight as well. Will the promoters end up taking a bath on this one?

The lowest-cost/get-in tickets for the fight are currently available for $83 each (including taxes and fees). That is an 80% decrease from June.

According to Gametime, however, the high-end tickets have skyrocketed. Top tickets to the fight are now $49,226, up from about $9,000 in June.

Anticipation has been heightened for this fight as the two pugilists got into a shoving match during the press conference.

The comical nature of the encounter (with Tyson giggling) didn’t help quell concerns that this is an exhibition meant to make money for both men and little else.

“I’m going to […] you up,” Tyson warned. “Be in good shape, your health depends on it.”

For $40 million? Who wouldn’t take that risk?
