There’s a couple things going against you if you want tickets to the boxing match of the decade. First, the fight takes place in Cowboys Stadium, so it’s already going to be expensive. Second, it’s Mike Tyson.
The Iron Mike Tyson. At 57. (Though, this is not without its risks. One concussion expert warned that Tyson could be gambling with his life at that age.)
Third, Jake Paul has actually defied the critics and made a decent name for himself in the world of boxing.
So that’s how we arrive at $575. And the hell of it is, tickets aren’t even really on sale yet. They don’t go on sale until May 14th. The prices you can find are on the re-selling sites.
But is it worth it?
YES, It’s Worth It!
Let’s just set aside what you think about Jake Paul, the opponents he’s fought so far, or the state of the Sweet Science in general.
The prices are worth it because of three words. Mike. Freaking. Tyson.
For people of an age with me, Mike Tyson is our Muhammad Ali. He’s the most ferocious, fastest heavyweight we’ve ever seen. He whooped us countless times in Mike Tyson’s Punchout!! on Nintendo.
We watch his highlight clips frequently, even though he’s 57 years old and we thought there was no chance we’d ever get to see him fight again.
There’s the “What if?” factor for Tyson, much like Ali. What if he hadn’t committed his despicable crime, and kept fighting without a multi-year hiatus?
For that we will never know – but this is a chance for a real-life Rocky Balboa moment. He can’t be redeemed in the ring, his crime is too horrific, but for a couple minutes to an hour, we can imagine it went down differently.

Tyson/Paul Undercard
Former UFC star Darren Till will make his professional boxing debut in the undercard of Tyson vs. Paul. Till hasn’t fought since being released from his UFC contract over a year ago.
And he had better be prepared. His opponent is former WBC Middleweight Champion Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr.
Sportsnaut reports Till’s excitement about being on the undercard:
“I’m very happy to be a part of this event,” Till said in a statement. “Paul vs. Tyson is going to be one of the biggest events of our generation, and to make my professional boxing debut on it is brilliant. I’m very happy with my opponent. I’ve been a fan of his father for many years and I’ve been a fan of Chavez Jr. too – he is a great fighter who I respect.
“But make no mistake about it, I am coming to knock him out in the first round. I am happy with where I am in life, and I am coming to make a statement on Saturday, July 20th in Texas.”
