Johnny Manziel, the uber-talented college quarterback who let partying and substance abuse derail his professional career, is being hit with more bad news these days.
Mainly, his mother Michelle was arrested Saturday for driving while intoxicated in Kerrville, Texas.
According to the gossip website TMZ, Michelle was initially held on $7,500 bail, but court documents seem to indicate that she paid that amount and has been released.
There have, thus far, been very few details published over Manziel’s mom’s arrest, but TMZ did manage to get ahold of her mug shot.
She looks slightly taken aback at her current situation in the snap.

Mama Manziel In A Bit Of Trouble With DWI Arrest
It’d be easy to poke fun at this situation and link the troubles of the mother with the history of the son. But Manziel’s DWI arrest is no laughing matter. Nor is her son’s very public issues.
It’s sad, really.
Johnny Manziel, who captured the Heisman Trophy in 2012, has been open about his struggles with substance abuse and the highs and lows of his professional football career. His brief stint in the NFL was marked by erratic behavior, including partying and substance abuse issues, leading to his early exit from the league.
Manziel’s personal life also drew significant media attention, particularly after his 2016 domestic violence arrest, to which he later pleaded no contest.
Over the years, he has been open about his battles with mental health, including diagnoses of bipolar disorder.

Would Have Preferred Another Bathtub Video
Prior to the DWI arrest for his mother, Johnny Manziel resurfaced publicly when he was seen in a very confusing intimate moment with his girlfriend, model Josie Canseco.
Celebrating Manziel’s 32nd birthday, Canseco posted a video on Instagram of the couple in a bathtub, with Manziel washing her hair.
To this day, nobody knows why they made this a public thing.
To be clear, couples do this kind of thing all the time. Especially young ones. What they don’t do, however, is share it with a video on social media for the whole world to see.
