Golf super star Bryson DeChambeau might not have been named to the United States Olympic team. But he is coming off a brilliant performance in winning the U.S. Open at Pinehurst last weekend.
DeChambeau had been somewhat of a controversial figure since he moved on from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf in 2022. Since then, his personality has made him a fan of some.
Over in the NFL world, San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle has among the largest personalities. We’ve seen it come out in droves since the Iowa product entered the league back in 2017.
So, why wouldn’t these two get together for a wholesome moment as DeChambeau was celebrating his U.S. Open win in Nashville?
It just made too much sense. And it’s about as awesome as you might expect.
The two shared some brew…

The World Needs A Bryson DeChambeau, George Kittle Golf Pairing

Remember the celebrity golf tournaments that became popular during the COVID-19 pandemic? We need to renew this in a new format. Celebrities drinking beer as they play 18 holes against one another. Wouldn’t that be must-watch television?
Imagine DeChambeau and Kittle going up against Scottie Scheffler and Travis Kelce. Who wouldn’t watch that?
As for DeChambeau, he was understandably frustrated to be left off the Olympic team.
“I would love to represent the United States. It was tough for me not to go last time around because of COVID. It’s just one of those things that happened,” Bryson DeChambeau said.
“Hopefully, this game of golf will get figured out and come back together and I’ll be able to play. I’m playing great golf. I’m excited. Am I frustrated and disappointed? Sure, you can absolutely say that, but I made the choices that I’ve made and there’s consequences to that and I respect it.”
The Olympic team is chosen from players in the Official World Golf Rankings. Those on the LIV Tour only get points for Major tournaments on the PGA circuit. Hence, DeChambeau being left off.
Kittle’s offseason was surrounded by core muscle surgery after he played through injury to lead San Francisco to the Super Bowl. He’s now simply enjoying the remainder of the offseason before training camp gets going next month. San Francisco GM John Lynch just hopes he doesn’t enjoy it too much.
