In an exclusive interview with TheBlaze, former Global Golf Post writer has accused the higher-ups at his old publication of intentionally burying a story of his discussing the conservative political views and Christian faith of female golfer Amy Olson, specifically because of her pro-life stance.
Professional golfer Amy Olson attracted attention for competing in the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach while also being seven months pregnant.
Olson was later interviewed by Eubanks, who was still reporting for the Global Golf Post at the time. According to him, his in-depth interview was loudly rejected twice by different media outlets due to its content, which runs against the publications’ apparent left-wing bias.
The interview covered Olson’s experience being pregnant while participating in the tournament, as well as her comments about the pro-life movement after Roe v. Wade was overturned in the recent Dobbs decision. Eubanks told TheBlaze that when he submitted his draft, management “went ballistic” and editors at Global Golf Post said they would attempt to publish the piece only “if we take out the abortion and the Christian stuff.”

Eubanks, frustrated with the pushback he was receiving from editors who wanted to kill the piece, later resigned from the Global Golf Post.
Not only would the removal of these aspects make the piece less interesting, but it was a blatant attempt to silence voices that don’t mimic progressive viewpoints.
Later, Olson’s story gained interest from Golfweek, owned by USA Today, but it too was then killed without explanation. Both Olson and Eubanks have expressed their frustration with the censorship of conservative viewpoints in the media as a result of the treatment they have received.
One of the questions Olsen answered in her interview with Eubanks was regarding how she was treated in the golf industry for being an outspoken Christian, proud of her beliefs:
“It’s very tough. Being a Christian has always been political because Christianity is supposed to touch every aspect of your life. I believe in comprehensive Christianity. It dictates how you treat people, how you think about the world, and the decisions that you make. There’s nothing in my life that isn’t affected by faith. To think that there is a realm out there not affected by my faith is something I can’t even fathom.”
She also stated that over the past decade, it has become increasingly harder to hold her beliefs publicly given the political and cultural state of our society.
“Christ hasn’t changed His view on any of those things, but the culture has changed,” she said. “So it’s a lot less acceptable to be an open Christian and to believe what Christianity has stood for the last 2,000 years.”
