Popular golf influencer and former professional golfer Paige Spiranac has revealed the reasons for her noticeably reduced social media presence. Let’s be clear—less Paige gracing our computer and phone screens is a tragedy.

Spiranac, speaking at a fan Q&A on her Instagram Story Tuesday, described herself as being “in a bit of a funk” and grappling with persistent anxiety that has left her overthinking and pulling back from online posting.

“I am in a bit of a funk, a rut if you will, and it’s not like a one or two-day thing,” she said. “This has been going on for a little bit. I feel like I’ve just been so in my head about everything, and I’m just trying to work through it.”

“I think that’s why I haven’t been posting as much because I am just overthinking everything, and I just feel like my anxiety has taken control.”

Paige Spiranac Opens Up on Anxiety Battle: Why the Golf Bombshell Is Posting Less and Fighting to Get Back

The outgoing, vivacious blonde bombshell has previously explained to fans why she left professional golf to become an influencer. The reason might surprise you.

Spiranac revealed that severe golf course anxiety was a primary reason she stopped playing professionally, as it consistently overwhelmed her mentally.

She described her relationship with golf as a “toxic love-hate” dynamic, where the sport’s highs were addictive, but bad rounds left her feeling worthless.

“So I have a really toxic love-hate relationship with the game of golf. And I have talked about this ad nauseam. It was one of the reasons why I stopped playing golf professionally,” Paige said in a video posted to X. “I just could never get over the golf course anxiety.”

“And I would just feel that my mind always won, and I was weak, and I could just never overcome that feeling.”

“There’s also something about the game of golf that makes you addicted to it, but also makes you feel like the most worthless human being ever when you have a bad round,” she added. “I’ve been working with a therapist on this. I love golf so much, but sometimes, I just can’t break through. It eats at me, and I know so many others can relate to this.”

Of course, for someone who struggles with anxiety, Paige recently found herself in another nerve-wracking incident. One that might also be contributing to her decision to take a break from social media.

Spiranac reportedly experienced intense online harassment, including tens of thousands of death threats, following a cheating scandal in a golf influencer tournament late last year.

During that event, a Barstool Sports-sponsored golf tournament featuring 48 influencers competing for a $1 million prize, Paige Spiranac was caught on camera brushing down tall grass in the rough during the final match.

The move helped improve the lie for her teammate Malosi Togisala. Opponents were none too pleased.

Even the most casual of golfers knows that improving a lie in any manner is a violation of golf rules. You can’t alter the course conditions. How Paige, an accomplished golfer, wouldn’t know that is anybody’s guess.

Opponents confronted her on the 17th green, leading Spiranac to break down in tears as she claimed ignorance of the rule. Paige insisted she had no intent to cheat.

Fortunately for everyone with working eyes, she’s slowly been working her way back.

The golf siren showed off curly hair and bangs in a selfie posted to her verified X account last month.
