A video of golf legend Tiger Woods nailing the Happy Gilmore swing has resurfaced just as a release date for the long-awaited sequel has finally been announced.
Woods hit the swing effortlessly, reaching over 300 yards while wearing the same Boston Bruins hockey jersey Adam Sandler wore in the movie.
The clip was made for TaylorMade in 2021 in honor of the original film’s 25th anniversary.
The video also featured other top golfers, including Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, and Matthew Wolff.
Golf.com reposted the impressive effort on Instagram this week.
Happy Gilmore 2 Release Date Announced
Netflix officially announced this week that the eagerly awaited sequel to Happy Gilmore will premiere on July 25th. That is almost 30 years after the original film first entered the American consciousness.
The first teaser trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 aired in December. It showcased Sandler in his iconic Boston Bruins jersey, work boots instead of golf shoes, swinging away at the golf ball with his signature run-up style.
It’s not just Sandler returning; Julie Bowen reprises her role as Virginia Venit, and Christopher McDonald is back as the ever-amusing Shooter McGavin.
One scene shows McGavin at the gravesite of Happy’s late golf coach, Chubbs Peterson, who was played by the late, great Carl Weathers. Weathers sadly passed away last year in real life.

Travis Kelce In The Movie, Tiger Not Confirmed
Sandler, the star of Happy Gilmore, has said he’d be thrilled to have Tiger Woods play a role in the movie.
“I would love it,” he told Dan Patrick. “We’ll see. I’m gonna write all of my dreams, and then you never know what’s going to happen. But we’re going to try.”
There has been no confirmation that Woods has a role in the movie, however.
Ya know who is in it? Kansas City Chief tight end Travis Kelce. Kelce can be seen in the trailer as a country club attendant of some sort, what with that Uncle Rico haircut and all, looking more like a character out of Oppenheimer.

Happy Gilmore 2 aims to recapture the magic of the original 1996 film, where Sandler played a failed hockey player who discovers an unexpected talent for golf. Or at least some aspects of golf.
The film became a cultural phenomenon known for its humor, memorable lines, and Sandler’s over-the-top performance.
The original also starred Bob Barker, Joe Flaherty, and the aforementioned Weathers, each of whom has sadly passed away in the intervening years. Barker played himself at a charity event in the film. Flaherty was the crazed fan who would yell “Jackass!” in an attempt to rattle Happy.
Rumor has it that each man will be paid tribute to in some manner, with Sandler also trying to get current Price is Right host Drew Carey into the mix.
Fans are excited. Will the film meet expectations? We won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
