Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, humorously explained that the novelty of golfing with the President of the United States has subsided.

In her view, it’s just a regular family activity. And she doesn’t exactly dwell on the fact that she’s hitting the links with the most powerful man in the world.

“I just don’t view it as him being the president. I view it as he’s my grandpa. We’re gonna go out there and play golf,” she told Fox News Digital. “We play golf all the time. It’s nothing new.”

The comments come as Kai has launched a new series on YouTube, “1 on 1 with Kai.”

The two have a very special bond, fueled by their mutual love of golf.

Kai Trump hits the links with her Grandpa

The duo recently enjoyed a best-ball round at Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C., where the course was closed off while Kai filmed the outing for her YouTube channel.

“I had an amazing time filming with my Grandpa to kick off my new series called ‘1 on 1 with Kai.’ In the video, everyone gets to see the bond we have, especially on the golf course,” she said of the new segment.

“This is my favorite video I have filmed so far and holds a lot of meaning to me.”

President Trump promoted his granddaughter’s work on his Truth Social media site.

“My wonderful granddaughter just launched a new Series on YouTube,” he wrote. “For her inaugural episode, we filmed our Golf Match at Trump National Golf Club, Washington, D.C.”

“She has incredible golfing talent and a bright future.”

Kai proposed the video idea to her grandfather, who enthusiastically agreed despite logistical challenges.

“There were definitely a lot of moving parts, but he was 100% down for it,” she said. “He’s great when it comes to that type of stuff. He loved the idea, and it all worked out. For me, I’m playing a match with my grandpa. I had a great time with him, and he made it easy. It was really nice to film with him.”

Always makes time for her

Kai said that the President always makes time for her on the golf course. Bonding time is crucial for the two.

“Whenever I have time, he will always make time to play golf with me,” she said.

How accessible is Trump?

“If I call him tomorrow and ask to play golf next Saturday, he will make time for it,” said Kai. “That’s one of his really good qualities — he always makes time for his family.”

President Trump is a famously prolific golfer. Kai Madison Trump has a pretty good golf game herself. She recently announced her commitment to play at the University of Miami as a member of the 2026 signing class.

But things can get competitive between the two.

During an amusing speech at the Republican National Convention, Kai mentioned how her Grandfather always keeps up with her golf game and how he likes to play mind games if they’re not on the same team.

“He calls me during the middle of the school day to ask how my golf game is going, and tells me all about his, but then I have to remind him that I’m in school and I’ll have to call him back later,” she said. “When we play golf together, if I’m not on his team, he’ll try to get inside of my head.”

“And he is always surprised that I don’t let him get to me, but I have to remind him I’m a Trump too.”
