If it wasn’t already obvious, Travis Kelce is much better at his day job, where he plays star tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. Part of his nightlife includes doubling as Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, but now we know what the three-time Super Bowl champion won’t be doing once he retires from playing football.
On Friday, the 34-year-old took his talents to the golf course to participate in the American Century Championship in Nevada alongside his retired brother Jason Kelce. The celebrity golf tournament’s main intent was to raise funds for a collection of charities, but it’s clear the stars had plenty of fun along the way.
Unfortunately, some of the spectators in attendance had a much rougher afternoon.
Travis Kelce had a bad day at the Lake Tahoe golf course
Once Travis reached hole 16 at Lake Tahoe, he wound back for a big swing, but when he connected, the golf ball went flying right into the head of a nearby woman who was struck in the back of her head. One eyewitness even said “streaks of blood” could be seen, emerging through her blonde hair.
The woman sat on the ground for a few minutes before being able to return to her feet while paramedics offered assistance. Kelce later made his way down to check up on the health of the battered spectator. Ironically enough, the two brothers previously discussed what might happen if they accidentally hit a spectator in attendance.
“This is my first time out in Lake Tahoe, do you have any advice?” Jason asked Travis.
“My advice would be don’t feel bad if you hit somebody because they bought the ticket,” he joked, before Travis replied: “I don’t feel bad if I ever hit anybody.”
“It’s a bunch of amateurs out there trying to play golf so don’t feel bad. People have been hit before. They got EMTs, whatever it’s called, they got right there at every hole. Everybody will be fine.” – Travis
Oddly enough, the errant shot from Travis wasn’t his only blunder on the day. On his very first stroke of the day, Travis also had an off-target swing that caused his ball to strike another fan in the arm. That one didn’t draw any blood, but if there’s one thing we learned, it’s that Travis shouldn’t quit his day job any time soon.
