All-Star outfielder Jazz Chisholm and the Miami Marlins earned a rare win Tuesday night against the St. Louis Cardinals. It represented just Miami’s 24th win in 73 tries this season.

Wouldn’t you be a tad excited to get a win if you were a member of “The Bad News Bears?” Well, the star outfielder might have been a tad too excited.

Reporter Jessica Blaylock was attempting to interview Marlins outfielder Vidal Brujan after his walk-off single in extra innings. What ensued was pure chaos with Chiholm as the culprit.

Perhaps, he missed his intended target. If so, Chisholm has no business playing outfield in the majors. Given his reaction after the incident, it sure the heck seems like the dude meant to soak the reporter.

Blaylock did have a great reaction to the scene.

“Oh, my goodness. I feel like I just maybe delivered the walk-off hit,” she said.

Fair or foul? Jerk move or all in good fun? You can be the judge.

But this little thing called karma came back to hit Chisholm one day later.

Miami Marlins Star Jazz Chisholm Out Wednesday With Hamstring Injury

Yes, you read that right. He’s been scratched from Wednesday’s game against the Cardinals. We really have to know if the injury happened during the celebration after dousing Blaylock. That would be pretty hilarious, right? OK, maybe not. Let’s not wish that on anyone.

As for Chisholm, he’s been in the news a lot recently. The one-time All-Star has been the subject of trade rumors with his team going nowhere fast this season. It was also earlier in the spring that he put some current/former Marlins players on blast.

According to Chisholm, the first three seasons of his Marlins tenure were the “worst three years probably of my life.”

Chisholm added.

“I was already a team leader without being called a team leader. You can’t be a team leader when you’ve got guys that’s been in the clubhouse that’s been in there nine or 10 years even though they suck. They’ve been there for nine or 10 years and the team calls them the team captain. But they’re not a good captain, they’re not a good person, you’re not even a good athlete at this point. You’re just here and you’re bringing down the young guys that are supposed to be good.”

If Chisholm is indeed traded, let’s hope Blaylock doesn’t have to follow. Let’s also hope that none of the teammates he’s talking about have to, either.
