The Juan Soto free agency sweepstakes are finally over, with the New York Mets inking the four-time All-Star to a record-breaking 15-year, $765 million contract. While no one involved with the New York Yankees will be found celebrating losing Soto to their cross-town rivals, the story is much different in the Soto household, where it’s time to party like it’s 1999.

Late Sunday night, when everyone was getting ready to go to bed in anticipation of a new work week beginning, Juan Soto decided to steal the spotlight. While the Soto signing was expected soon, the $765 million figure is still a mind-blowing amount. The fact that he left the Yankees in the dust was another unique development, which couldn’t have been an easy decision.

Yet, based on how Soto reacted after signing, it’s clear he doesn’t have any hard feelings about jumping ship from the Yankees to the Mets.

Shortly after signing, Soto and his brother, Elian, shared a video on Instagram of the two screaming in celebration. In addition to their loud celebratory shouts, Juan Soto was also sprayed with beer while sharing a hot tub with Elian.

The caption in the video below read, “Got his ass. Mets babyyyyyy.”
