It might just be the most electric thing to happen to the Cincinnati Reds in a long time.
A fan ran onto Great American Ballpark field on Tuesday night, paused to do a backflip right in the face of a cop, and got blasted with 50,000 volts of justice for his trouble.
Records indicate 19-year-old William Hendon was booked into the Hamilton County Jail in Ohio on a felony criminal trespass charge and a misdemeanor obstructing official business charge as a result of the incident.
Video cropping up on social media shows Hendon stopping to interact with one of the players before he fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous of which is, ‘never get involved in a land war in Asia,’ but only slightly less well-known as this: Never stop to do a backflip when the long arm of the law is on your tail.
The young man opened himself up for a taser shot, which the officer in question nailed. Hendon immediately dropped to the ground.
His face in the turf, he was easily subdued and cuffed.
Reds Fan Tased, Epic Image Emerges
The first question that comes to mind is – Why the taser, bro? The kid was moving at a solid three miles per hour tops as he crossed the field.
He then gave you a chance to catch up with the backflip. By the time he got to a wall along the edges of the field, there was virtually no chance he was going to scale it and get away.
I mean, have you ever seen somebody, besides this Reds fan, run onto the field and get tased?
Now this is how you handle somebody going on the field – This Dodgers fan who tried proposing to his girlfriend by running onto the field got absolutely trucked:
That’s how it’s done. No Taser necessary.
Regardless, we’re glad Hendon was stopped and that one of the most epic images of all time was released to the public. This thing is a beauty.
The look on the cop’s face. The look on the tase-ee’s face. Just … *chef’s kiss*.

Did He Stick The Landing?
If you thought Hendon was going to be humbled by the humiliating experience of being tased in front of thousands of people and eventually millions more at home, you’d be wrong.
He went to court with the ol’ smart-ass defense.
WHIO reports that the judge during Hendon’s arraignment said, “Everybody thinks you landed that backflip.”
“I’m pretty sure I did,” he fired back.
Pissing off the judge. Bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for him.
Hendon was released on bond and is temporarily banned from the stadium.
The Reds, meanwhile, lost the game to the Cleveland Guardians, 5-3. They’ll try to avoid the sweep later this evening.
