San Francisco Giants star Logan Webb is among the best pitchers in baseball. He’s also very human, both on and off the field.

Webb’s latest story about the All-Star Game in Texas this past summer is the latest example of this. He’s also proven to be just like the rest of us.

The reigning National League Cy Young runner-up just recently appeared on “The Chris Rose Rotation” podcast. He shared a story about being hungover the day of the All-Star Game.

Webb noted that MLB threw a party for players after the Home Run Derby Monday night. There was apparently a lot of booze available as the Dallas Cowboys made their training facility in Frisco open to the players.

Webb relayed that Lil Jon was also DJing. It made for a late night for the star pitcher.

Tuesday afternoon represented 100 degree weather with a lot of humidity in Texas. Add in the fact that Webb’s wife woke him up at 7 AM, and he knew it was going to be a long day.

Webb repeatedly said to himself, “don’t throw up” on his way to the mound in the third inning.

Webb ultimately gave up three hits and three earned runs in an inning of action. It played a major role in the National League losing by the score of 5-3.

What’s the moral of the story here?

“Just relax the night before,” Webb said.

Most of us have been there. It’s not a great feeling. You’re certainly not at 100% when trying to work hungover. Now, imagine being an athlete.

As for Webb, he’s just lucky that home-field advantage in the World Series is no longer decided by the winner of the All-Star Game. That would’ve made this thing a lot less funny.
