Many fans were disappointed by the Jake Paul–Mike Tyson fight, as it ended up being of a far lower quality than what most were hoping for. One person who did not disappoint during the fight, however, was ring girl Sydney Thomas.
Thomas Becomes Viral Star Overnight
Thomas, who turned 21 on Tuesday, ended up completely stealing the show with her gorgeous look. The blonde bombshell immediately became an overnight viral sensation after 60 million households tuned in to watch her during the fight on Netflix.
Now, in the wake of finding fame, Thomas is opening up about how her life has changed. She’s also revealing what’s next for her.
Fans first noticed Thomas when she was standing in the background as Tyson slapped Paul the night before the fight. Thomas’ fame only grew when the fight actually happened.
“It really hit me more after the fight when I woke up. I had gone up 200,000 followers,” Thomas told Fox News. “I knew a lot of attention was around it when Tyson slapped Paul. Everyone was focused on the ring girls in the background, and I was like, ‘We’re getting so much attention from this.'”
Thomas, who is currently a student at the University of Alabama, quickly found her Instagram and TikTok accounts being flooded with DMs. Thankfully, she has a good “circle” around her to protect her headspace during this chaotic time.
“I have a lot of people in my circle that are very trustworthy in that I can lean on with these things,” Thomas said. “It’s a lot. A lot of people have come at me, saying a lot of things, giving their two cents, but I am blessed to have fallen in with the right people to be able to trust them and the advice they’re giving me, lead me in the right direction, and ease my mind and just know that I’m on the right path.”

Thomas’ Future Plans
As for Thomas’ future plans, her short term goal is to become a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.
“There have been a lot of conversations around that,” she admitted. “I have a few people that have been in contact…I would love to do it. I think since it’s been a goal of mine, a small milestone, I would love to do it. Hopefully, that can be a thing. We’ll see.”
C’mon, Sports Illustrated, let’s make that happen please!
Thomas is also focused on school, where she’s majoring in entrepreneurship. Even with all the craziness happening around her at the moment, Thomas is keeping up with her coursework through online classes.
“My head has always been in the entrepreneurial space,” Thomas explained. “My end goal was to always build up my social media, my platform, my personal brand and then start something out of that that can last forever and make money in my sleep.”
“I am going to work on continuing to build what I have in the media platforms and build stronger connections with my fan base, and then hopefully can turn that into something I can make a living off of,” she continued.

A Deeper Meaning For Thomas
While that sounds like the typical goal of someone Thomas’ age, she has a deeper purpose behind it than most.
“But more long-term, greater goals, I have always been driven to do something that can impact people’s lives in a good way and a positive way, and I think that’s the true meaning of success,” Thomas stated. “Money is great, but when I die, I want to be able to say that I changed someone’s life in a positive way or left a positive mark on the world.”
“I now have this platform to share things with,” she concluded. “I would love to be able to do [some] positive things with it.”
The fight between Paul and Tyson may have been a disappointment, but Thomas was anything but that. In the end, it seems that at least one good thing came out of the Paul-Tyson fight after all. We can’t wait to see what Thomas does in the future!
