The NASCAR star Bubba Wallace has been struggling in his races as of late. In a new interview, Wallace has revealed that his beloved wife Amanda, who he married on New Year’s Eve in 2022, has become his secret weapon as she’s given him some simple advice amidst his struggles.

Wallace’s Advice From His Wife

After Wallace didn’t finish his last two races at Talladega and Dover, coming in 36th at the former and 32nd at the latter, he came home to a gift from his wife that included some simple yet powerful advice.

“I came home Sunday night from Dover and I woke up Monday morning, and there was a candle warmer,” Wallace said. “I’m not a candle-warmer person. My wife is.”

“I was like, ‘Nice, new candle warmer,’ and she was like, ‘Did you see what it says on it though?’ It says, ‘It’s a new day.’ She was like, ‘I got that for you.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, thanks. That’s 10 candle warmers we have in the house now, but that’s OK. Thank you,'” he continued.

Wallace, 30, decided to take his wife’s advice to heart after admitting that the last few weeks have been a disappointment for him.

“It’s been a frustrating last couple of weeks knowing we had the speed and just haven’t been able to close out the deal,” he said. “But it’s Kansas. It’s a new week.”

‘Time Doesn’t Stop For You’

Wallace had been leading at one point in Dover, but he ultimately fell to17th in the Cup Series when a wreck ended his race prematurely, according to The Spun. Watch Wallace talk about this loss in the video below.

While Wallace isn’t happy with the result, he is eager to turn the page and move on, admitting that the busy NASCAR schedule doesn’t give him much time to stew over his negative results.

“You can be frustrated and pissed off all you want, but as long as you make it constructive criticism, giving yourself and the team the right feedback to keep moving the needle forward,” Wallace explained.

“The sport doesn’t stop. Time doesn’t stop for you,” he added. “So, no need to sit and dwell on it. There’s a lot of people in your corner that are looking for good things out of this weekend, so we’ve gotta go out and do that for them.”

Unfortunately for Wallace, his bad luck continued yesterday at the Advent Health 400. During the race, Wallace could be heard ranting over his radio about the inconsistencies of his car, according to Essentially Sports.

“So inconsistent, I don’t know what to do… you know what we talked about at the shop?” he shouted. “Get this m*f***down.”

Wallace And His Wife Expecting First Child

While things aren’t going well for Wallace on the racetrack right now, his personal life with his wife appears to be extremely positive as of late. Last month, the happy couple announced that they are expecting their first child in October.

“Spring has sprung,” they wrote in an Instagram post. “Summer will be rad. Fall is the first time, We’ll be mom and dad!”

Find out more about this in the video below.

Wallace then took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to joke about the baby being due around his own birthday, which is October 8.

Though this is clearly a difficult time for Wallace professionally, he would do well to follow his wife’s advice in his upcoming NASCAR races. Staying positive isn’t always easy, but each new day really is a new opportunity to turn everything around!
