NASCAR driver Kyle Busch shut down reporters after they questioned him about why conceal carries.
Busch revealed he conceal carries at the beginning of February when he posted to social media, “In late January, Samantha and I enjoyed a several day vacation in Mexico. When departing the country, my handgun was flagged during routine screening at the airport. I have a valid concealed carry permit from my local authority and adhere to all handgun laws, but I made a mistake by forgetting it was in my bag.”
He continued, “Discovery of the handgun led to my detainment while the situation was resolved. I was not aware of Mexican law and had no intention of bringing a handgun into Mexico. When it was discovered, I fully cooperated with the authorities, accepted the penalties, and returned to North Carolina.”
“I apologize for my mistake and appreciate the respect shown by all parties as we resolved the matter. My family and I consider this issue closed,” he concluded.

During a press conference in the lead up to the Daytona 500, a couple of reporters asked Busch about his detainment in Mexico, and he completely shut them down.
One reporter first asked, “Kyle, it seemed like there was some confusion after the Mexico thing on whether that was fully resolved are you able to say whether that’s complete done in the past? Or can you shed any light on that?”
Busch answered, “I made a statement on that earlier and that’s all that’ll be said on that topic.”
A second reporter, this one from the Associated Press, asked another question, “Sort of related to that topic. I mean you were involved in a scary incident in Minnesota. Mall of America. Did that play any role in why you feel you need to carry a gun?”
Busch answered, “No, I was a carrier before that.”
The reporter then asked, “Usuaully when you travel anywhere or just…?
Busch responded, “Into the, I don’t know the M-word that it’s called, but in the places that you’re allowed to, yeah.” When asked why he carries, Busch answered, “Doesn’t matter.”
Busch is right to shut these reporters down. First, his statement as seen above clearly states it’s resolved and that he and his family consider the issue closed.
Secondly, this is the United States of America and as citizens of this country we have the right to bear arms under the Second Amendment full stop. The Second Amendment clearly states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bears Arms, shall not be infringed.”
If the Second Amendment wasn’t abundantly clear, Thomas Jefferson elucidated the point in a letter to John Wright in 1824. Jefferson wrote, “The constitutions of most of our states assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, (as in electing their functionaries executive and legislative, and deciding by a jury of themselves, both fact and law, in all judiciary cases in which any fact is involved) or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; that they are entitled to freedom of person; freedom of religion; freedom of property; and freedom of the press.”
Sam Adams also made it clear during the debates and proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He said, “The Constitution shall never be construed…to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.
