NASCAR driver Greg Biffle is one of many heroes leaping into action in the wake of the devastating Hurricane Helene. Bounding Into Sports has chronicled the efforts of several NASCAR teams and drivers as they struggle to help their communities recover.

Helene, a formidable Category 4 storm when it made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region, has left a path of destruction stretching through Georgia, the Carolinas, and beyond. The hurricane’s aftermath has created flooded streets, destroyed homes and whole towns, and left entire communities cut off from essential services.

Now, a video has surfaced on X showcasing Biffle’s heroic efforts using his personal helicopter. The clip shows a man signaling his chopper with the help of a mirror.

“The mirror that caught our attention well over a mile away,” Biffle wrote on X. “Only way we … were able to find someone stranded in the mountains at bottom of steep canyon.”

The semi-retired NASCAR driver indicated it took “6 attempts to land” in the area but they did eventually get to the man.

“Got him a chainsaw, EpiPens, insulin, chicken food, formula, gas, 2 stroke oil, and sandwiches premade from Harris Teeter before we left,” he added.

Leaving formula seems to indicate the man also has a family, including a baby. Thank goodness Biffle saw the mirror, and thank goodness the man had the foresight to bring it!

Greg Biffle Bringing Supplies To Hurricane Victims With His Helicopter

In another social media post, Greg Biffle dropped a pin on the location where his helicopter delivered aid and let people know that their family members, at least in that location, were safe.

“If your family is near this pin, they got my attention with a mirror flashing against the sun they are okay and we’ve dropped off supplies,” he said.

This situation shows the importance of basic survival needs – and a mirror falls into that category – when dealing with emergency events. This man and his family have been cut off from all forms of modern communication it seems.

But he was able to flag down Biffle’s helicopter when he wouldn’t have seen him otherwise. Incredible!

Athletes And Entertainers To The Rescue!

While his days of competing for checkered flags might be transitioning, Greg Biffle’s race to help those in need is clearly at full throttle.

He’s not the only one.

Numerous reports have emerged from the heart of the disaster zone highlighting how iconic NASCAR racing teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, and others are utilizing their personal resources in a crucial effort to help victims of the Hurricane.

Additionally, country music star Morgan Wallen, according to The Mix, made a significant contribution to Hurricane Helene relief efforts by donating $500,000 to the American Red Cross.

The situation in Georgia and the Carolinas is devastating. And while the federal government is struggling with its disaster response, country music stars and NASCAR drivers are stepping up.
