2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney joined Bubba Wallace at a recent New York Knicks game. The Knicks posted a photo to their X account but cropped Blaney out of the image.
The Knicks were taking on the Utah Jazz earlier this week, the second matchup between these two teams this season on the NBA schedule.
Apparently, a courtside photographer saw the two popular NASCAR figures and took a photo. Proving once again that the New York Knicks are allergic to champions and championships, the final social media post looked like this:
Perhaps Ryan Blaney was doing his best John Cena impersonation – ‘You can’t see me’ – but the photo only manages to capture one of the two drivers.
And it wasn’t the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion. Blaney responded to the Knicks photo on X with a bit of humor.
“Getting cropped out is some cold 💩…,” he quipped.
Bubba Wallace Says The Photographer Tried To Squeeze The Champ In
It was Wallace who then responded to his friend on X and noted the Knicks photographer actually asked them to move together so he could get them both in the photo.
“Even told us to scoot closer to get both of us…still cropped it💀💀,” he pointed out.
Look, we’re not suggesting anything nefarious is afoot here. It’s pretty funny actually. The two are obviously friends and Blaney didn’t take any offense to the situation.
But man, having the photog tell you to scooch in and STILL crop you out is … something.
Bubba Wallace famously took part in promoting reports that a noose had been found in his garage stall in 2020. He was openly promoting the Black Lives Matter movement when the ‘noose’ report came to light.
The FBI investigated the incident and determined it was actually a garage door pulldown that had been there since 2019.
The Knicks beat the Jazz 118-103, improving their record to 31-17. They’ve won 8 straight and sit just six games behind the Boston Celtics.
