Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler remains one of the better NBA players today. The six-time All-Star has put up heroic performances in the playoffs and nearly willed his team to titles twice over the past half-decade.
But Jimmy Buckets also has a reputation around the league as someone who is difficult to coach. It’s why he’s played for four teams over the course of a 13-year career despite Hall of Fame credentials.
We know about Butler’s on-again, off-again relationship with then Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau earlier in his career. He was also called out by Heat front office head, the legendary Pat Riley, after an injury-plagued 2023-24 season. This led to trade rumors surrounding the wing.
Butler is now making the rounds once again.
He had previously taken part in the widely popular Hustler Casino Live stream poker game with co-owner Nick Vertucci. It’s no surprise. We’ve seen other big-time stars participate in the most-popular live stream in the poker world. That includes soccer star Neymar.
Just don’t expect this to be the case moving forward. On the most-recent live stream Monday night, Vertucci was asked who the “biggest a**hole” he ever met was. His response wasn’t subtle. “Jimmy Butler. I don’t like him,” Vertucci.

Social media influencer Rob Perez shared a video of the interation on X Monday evening. Vertucci expanded on his thoughts about Buckets.
“He was rude to everybody. I don’t want him back. First of all, he got here and waited an hour and a half for Neymar to get here, and he was pissed and wouldn’t play unless he was here. So, he was just sitting in the seat and not playing. We had to move his seat because he wanted to sit by Neymar, closer to people he know. That’s okay, too, a little prima donna stuff, famous people, we’re good,” Vertucci said.
“I don’t care how many viewers he brings, I don’t want him back. He was rude to the dealers, he was rude to other players, he was rude to the staff. He’s not welcome back, clip that.”
Well, tell us how you really feel.
This could also end up impacting Butler’s bottom line. In his only appearance on the live stream, the NBA star earned $122,000. It also once held a pot of $3.1 million, which is the largest in televised poker history.
Alas, Butler will not be wanting for anything any time soon. He’s set to make $52.41 million this coming season and has earned north of a quarter billion throughout his career.
