FS1 host Colin Cowherd had to leave his show after getting sick on air while discussing the recent blockbuster trade between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks.
There is no evidence that the trade had anything to do with him falling ill. Though, we’re pretty sure more than one Mavericks fan has been feeling a little queasy after their team traded away their star player, Luka Doncic.
Doncic was traded from the Mavericks to the Lakers for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round pick. The Utah Jazz was also involved. The move sent shockwaves across the NBA. Cowherd was addressing the situation when …
“Folks, I’m going to take a break,” he said. “I am getting very, very sick very, very quickly on this set, and we will return.”
This flu hits fast, like Mike Tyson in the 1980’s. This was how I felt on air Friday. Get well @colincowherd! pic.twitter.com/k4f0zevt3X

Colin Cowherd Is Doing Better
Colin Cowherd later took to social media to reassure fans that he’d be fine despite a rough moment or two on air. He even joked that the Doncic trade may have been the impetus for him feeling sick.
“Thank you for all the texts, calls, and concern. Sincerely touching,” he wrote on X. “Rough hour, but I’ll be fine. That damn Luka trade may have just overwhelmed me.”

Cowherd’s show, The Herd, also issued a statement updating listeners as to the host’s ailments.
“Colin is doing OK. Thank you for your concerns,” they reported on X. “Colin is under the weather and Jason Mcintyre is filling in.”

Making A Big Move
Colin Cowherd is scheduled to broadcast live from the Super Bowl in New Orleans, provided his health recovers sufficiently by the event date. And there are no more blockbuster trades, of course.
His show was planned to be broadcast from Maison Bourbon Jazz Club for Super Bowl LIX, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Thus far, he’s given no indication he’d be unable to go through with the broadcast.
Colin recently made news, announcing he is relocating his sports radio and television show to Chicago. Personal ties drive ‘The Herd‘s relocation, as Cowherd’s wife has family in the Windy City.
“My wife has given a lot to my career and sacrifice,” he said. “I love the city, she’s got her sister there, I’ve got a lot of friends there… and I think it’s just time to be a better guy, be a better husband.”
Good on him. We hope he’s feeling better soon.
