If you thought the Bronny James situation was a joke, get ready for Part II – Bryce James.

ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania, in discussing a timeline for the potential retirement of LeBron James, floated the idea that the Lakers star might try to hang on so he can play with his other son.

“My sense is next season could potentially be his last season in the NBA,” Charania said. “Could he play another season after that to 2026 or 2027? Potentially.”

That’s when he dropped this bombshell.

“Maybe Bryce James keeps him around an extra year or two.”

Bryce James Joining Bronny And LeBron?

Imagine that, two James kids riding the pine while Dad and his wishlist continue to destroy a once-proud franchise.

Could a Lakers game in 2026 or 2027 show the James family combing for 41 points, with Papa LeBron scoring 40 of them?

Eh, why not? The Lakers are a joke at this point anyway. Maybe they can do a Brady Bunch-themed starting lineup introduction on the Jumbotron? (Do they still call it a Jumbotron?)

James has broached the topic of adding Bryce to Bronny’s Make-a-Wish fantasy extravaganza himself, responding to a suggestion from former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Tristan Thompson.

“Bryce is a senior. I don’t know. We’ll see. We’ll see. That would be pretty cool. It’s all about my mind and then seeing how my body reacts over these next couple of years.”

Was it a joke? Probably? But then, so is Bronny’s jump shot, and yet he somehow managed to nab a second-round draft pick and a four-year guaranteed contract with the Lakers.

Considered The Better Prospect

Bryce James, the younger son of LeBron, is considered by some to be a better NBA prospect than Bronny. He is a shooting guard who stands 6ā€² 6ā€³ tall and attends Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles, California.

In 2022, the 16-year-old signed a NIL contract with Klutch Sports and received an offer to play for Duquesne.

He was caught on video getting a heaping helping of trash talk from his Dad during a recent pickup game.

The clip showed the Los Angeles Lakers star hitting lasers from long-range and dropping a ā€˜GOATā€™ reference, all while Bryce tries to taunt him into missing.

Will he play on the same NBA court with the GOAT one day? At this point, anything is possible.
