Fox Sports Radio’s Rob Parker threw an absolute temper tantrum after WNBA star Caitlin Clark declined an invitation to participate in an exhibition three-point shooting competition with Steph Curry.
Parker, in what amounts to an ‘old man yells at clouds’ event, hammered Clark and suggested that her lack of interest in participating in the NBA All-Star weekend ruined his entire life … or something.
In his rant, Parker correctly noted that the NBA subsidizes the WNBA, which would be a dormant league if not for that fact. But he lost credibility when he suggested that somehow this meant Caitlin was obligated to take part.
“So they have all these things, all these freaking gimmicks that the NBA has turned into. And she had the gall, the audacity, to say ‘no,’” Parker said.
The gall, he says!
“How can she say no when the WNBA wouldn’t even be around if it wasn’t for the NBA? They have subsidized that league forever. Ratings this year, right? Guess how much money the WNBA lost this past year — $50 million. Even with Caitlin Clark and her numbers.”
Which is a fair point, when you consider that Clark massively expanded the game – and yet…
Caitlin Clark Ruined Everything For Rob Parker
Parker’s rant delved into the absurd when he sounded like a petulant child criticizing Caitlin Clark. Nevertheless, he didn’t hold back.
“So the least she could have done was done a solid for her brothers in the NBA. They aren’t earning their keep. Let’s just be honest. I’m being honest. The least she could have done was take part in that,” he said.
“And she has ruined NBA All-Star Weekend for me. I’m not watching one minute. Because of Caitlin Clark.”
Bro, maybe actually be honest and admit you’re not watching NBA All-Star weekend because it’s a garbage event that has been run into the ground by these stupid gimmick events dreamt up by Commissioner Adam Silver.

Parker’s Comments Were Embarrassing
Parker was criticized for his comments, and fans rightly pointed out how bad the NBA All-Star weekend events are if it took Caitlin Clark to rescue them.
Fun Fact:

If a female basketball player “ruins” the Men’s All-Star game, by not making an appearance, the Men’s All-Star game, is already ruined, and it’s not Clark’s fault. She makes $77k for 44 games. LeBron makes $500k for 1 game.
Why is Parker not as livid at Angel Reese for not participating in a contest where she is challenged to pad her rebounding stats by missing layups?
Other fans pointed out that the game’s stars do not participate in the gimmick slam dunk contest either. Where once Michael Jordan elevated the All-Star weekend to must-see TV, nobody who is a major star in the league takes part. There’s no LeBron in a slam dunk contest. Ever.
She can say no the same way LBJ said no to the dunk contest every year.

Mac McClung won the slam dunk contest this year. He was impressive. But the dude isn’t even NBA material, playing just one game this season for the Orlando Magic while spending most of his season with the Osceola Magic in the G League.
Stars don’t want to participate in these competitions because there are no real stakes. The league changed the All-Star game itself into a three-mini-game tournament that was an absolute disaster for anybody who regrettably had to watch it.
Why would Caitlin Clark want to take part in such a train wreck?
